With the over flow of Android handsets that seems to be flooding the smartphone market, it is difficult to find a footing in this arena. As older versions of the OS struggle to fully optimise high-end hardware, OEMs are looking at tapping emerging markets. HTC and Samsung have already wet their feet in the Windows Phone market, with not-so-appealing results. However, looking at the way Nokia has grown in the area, Smartphone maker HTC is said to be re-entering the segment with newer models. Last year, the Taiwanese manufacturer introduced the 8S and the 8X, and both models "have reached the end of their life", reports Business Standard.
The brand suggested that it is "evaluating various options and we will launch new products based on its platform". So while there is no clear deadline as to when these will see light of day, you can expect Windows-based tablets too. How it will help the brand turn tides, only time will tell.
